My Story

What kind of Medicine Hat do we want to leave for the next generation?  We cannot afford to be a city looking backward. Our task is not to relive yesterday, but to build a better tomorrow, one that honors our heritage while embracing the future. To do this, we need leaders who not only understand where we've been, but who are committed to where we're going. We need a new vision rooted in the spirit of Medicine Hat itself.

My family has called Medicine Hat home since before the First World War. I grew up here, surrounded by the values of community, hard work, and service. Over the last decade, I’ve given back to our community through working at the BeYouth Centre, supporting seniors with dementia through musical therapy, and organizing events and a festival as one of the founders of Fictional Bookings. I've run a business in the downtown core and have advised others in their entrepreneurial pursuits. In that time, it’s become clear that our challenges have deepened. But these experiences have not weighed me down. They have shaped me, strengthening my resolve and fueling my belief that Medicine Hat’s best days are still ahead.

My greatest reason for hope is that we have the people, the spirit, and the resilience to restore opportunity. I have seen the desire in the people of The Hat to build a future we can all be proud of. To set an example for other municipalities in this province and country. Medicine Hat has always been home to passionate, talented people who already know the solutions to our biggest challenges. But they need to be given the resources and a stronger voice in city hall to put their ideas into action. By empowering the people who have called Medicine Hat home, we can build real, lasting solutions for the future.

“This city’s future belongs not only to us, but to the young families who will call it home tomorrow.”

Every generation inherits a city, and ours must leave Medicine Hat stronger than how it was given to us. My parents had the Medicine Hat advantage when I was growing up, which gave our family an opportunity to thrive. This motivates me to do my part in rejuvenating the advantage before it slips away. For that i am driven by a deep commitment to humbly serve on council to drive positive changes for generations to come.

I see before us not a list of challenges, but a blueprint for a brighter future for Medicine Hat. We will address the well-being and safety of every citizen by ensuring our community is one where families can thrive, where public safety is a priority, and where our parks and trails are accessible to all. We can foster economic growth not merely by attracting new business, but by empowering the entrepreneurs who are already here, revitalizing our downtown, and ensuring our city remains resilient. We will confront the difficult questions of our infrastructure and utilities, treating our vital assets not as a burden, but as the foundation of our prosperity. And finally, we will build a strong and accountable government, one that is efficient, transparent, and dedicated to the service of the people, all while investing in the culture and community that make Medicine Hat a city we are proud to call home.

I ask for your vote, so together we can honor our heritage, empower our community and build a Medicine Hat that thrives for generations to come.
